Don't laugh: PC-PINE

It's robust, standards compliant (unlike outlook or messenger), supports
MAPI, you can use your mouse to launch attachments, you NEVER launch an
attachment or run emailed code without doing it on purpose, it's fast, and
it supports encrypted and authenticated IMAP and SMTP. Oh yeah: and it's
free!!

What more could you want?
