I wondered that to start with. However, it is random. When playback fails
between tracks, I can stop playback, go back a song and play again, and the
same songs may play without incident.

I strongly suspect it's something to do with my software firewall. I am using
the latest version of Sunbelt Kerio Personal Firewall. I have had this problem
prior to installing the upgrade, but it used to be less frequent. Perhaps the
firewall is sensitive to some way that connections are dropped and created
between songs?

I have my LAN connection defined as Trusted (192.168.1.0 / 255.255.255.0). I
have enabled predefined network security, which disables:

        Internet Group Management Protocol
        Other ICMP packets

Could that have anything to do with it?

I notice that Perl.exe has loads of connections to the browser UI - around
30-40 connection between port 9000 and 127.0.0.1:<random port number>.
