Dear Neeraj I will answer your letter point by point:
1) This discussion brings out lot of interesting points These are not interesting points, they are worrying the nation. The point is, if we are Indians, what is common amongst us to be called Indians? 2) division of states, It is important to discuss whether division of states is required, and, as you rightly said, on what grounds. The division should not be on the grounds of language, religion or other points of view but from the point of view of management, growth and development. We have to draw conclusions and then either persuade for their implementation or, incorporate these in BM policy as a political party. 3) I understand that issues like these can affect people at personal level and one need to be appreciative of that. When we are discussing these issues, it is not because they affect us at personal level. Look at people who are discussing. They are not from Andhra Pradesh or Vidarbha. They are from all over India. We discuss these issues so that we bind ourselves as Indians, irrespective of cast, creed, religion, colour or sex. The question that pops up again is: what is common amongst us which binds us together as Indians? 4) However rhetoric full of emotions is what one should avoid because that completely dilutes the argument. I completely agree with you on this. We have to think on these issues as a Nation, but, without emotional attachment to THE Nation, it is not possible to discuss these issues as National issues. 5) Fact based discussion is always interesting to read and react. This is a fact based discussion. The government announced that it will promote division of Andhra Pradesh. This is a fact. Now, we, either as a political party or as deciding authority in democracy, have to discuss whether this government decision is right or wrong, so that we can decide whom to vote for in the forthcoming general election. 6) For instance if any of the learned members of the group can throw lights on new infrastructure projects which have started (or not started) in the new stated post their formation, it will be interesting. I agree we should do this also. But again, not because it forms an interesting reading. We have to discuss these because they are important for our nation building and, OURS IS NOT A DISCUSSION GROUP BUT ACTION GROUP. Let us pledge to take actions on the issues that we discuss. Let us decide on each issue about our opinion as a group on these issues.
