Well, well. Sourceforge is really on the cutting edge I see. They  
might be interested to know that php.net discontinued support for  
PHP4 at the end of 2007. That might have something to do with the  
fact that PHP5 had its first stable release in July, 2004, five  
months before the last time SF.net updated their instance of PHP4. I  
understand that upgrading PHP across the board in SF.net would  
probably be a daunting task, but for crying out loud their current  
version is way out of date, filled with bugs that were long ago fixed  
(even in PHP4), and not even in the currently supported version number.

Having never dealt with SF.net myself, I naively think of these  
issues as being important enough to inspire action, but I can see  
from the tenor of the comments thus far that such inspiration is  
unlikely.

Sadly, I cannot think of another place where one could host a  
Mediawiki instance at no cost.
