Hi
I have a Rivendell Atlantis that I built up last year, it ticks when
pedaling.
Same place every-time near the top of the non drive stroke.
There is nothing I can see touching or rubbing.
It only ticks when pedaling not coasting.
The ticking is not loud nor does seem to produce any drag.
If I pedal lightly with out putting any pressure on the wheel it does
not tick.
It ticks when pedaling out of the saddle.
The tick sometimes is a double tick, tick-tick.
I first thought was the bottom bracket so I swapped out the Shimano
107 mm for a Phil wood 108 mm, without and difference in the ticking.
It will tick no-matter what gear it is in.
If I pedal with my right foot only attached, no ticking.
If I pedal with my left foot only attached it ticks.
The bike has only about 1,500 miles total.
I can't honestly say when the tick started. I am going on a cycle
camping tip on the 13th and want it fixed by then.
The build with all new parts:
61cm Frame
Sugino triple cranks 170 mm 46/36/24
Shimano Nexave front derailer
Shimano Deore LX rapid rise rear derailer
8 speed casette 12—30
9 speed chain
Friction DT shifters
Shamino XT hubs, Velocity Synergy OC rear wheel Rivendell build.
Shimano PDM324 pedals.
Any suggestions?
