Al, thanks.

My problem isn't with the recurring questions. I know that those
questions will come back time and time again, which is why I asked
Neil Munday to set up the BOINC FAQs Service web site, and put all
those questions and their answers there. Not just for people to look
at and learn, but for myself as well. Even I can't remember all the
answers for all the errors that are out there.

As for the wars you mention, the next bit might be flame-worthy and
have no right to be here on this list. But I've kept my silence for
too long, it's time I let some of it out of my system.

I missed at least 2 of them during my 1 year hiatus from Seti after I
asked Matt & Eric to be demoted and let go (as ever, don't believe
everything you read, written by others :-)). During that time I set up
most of the BOINC FAQs and dove into the BOINC code, to see if I could
find what makes it tick (I'm still learning), while also laying down
the foundation of the in-depth contact I have with the developers and
admins all around.

Even in that time away some of the instigators tried to get rid of me
completely by fabricating whatever story they could think of, to make
me look bad. We all know who I mean, we all know they read this list
as well and else that someone who reads here will point this out to
them (so, hi!).

About the same time I quit one of my biggest problems - alcohol - all
for self-glory. After a year on tea and water only, I went and got
soda... gaining a couple of kilos in the process. So now I have to
work out as well, to keep my weight and general health in check. The
horror. ;-)

I know they're still out there to get me, and frankly I don't give a
damn. Whatever gives them the feeling they're interesting, important,
or that they have a high self-esteem, for me they're pixels on a
bulletin board, I don't really know them, they don't really know me.

There are plenty of people who want to get rid of David as well, do
you think he'll lie awake at night thinking about that? And besides,
what's the use to get rid of any of us, are they then going to take
over our volunteered job? Or are they just big-mouthing because they
don't know any better, can't come up with a better solution, or even
know what they're talking about? Or is it just - coming full circle -
that whatever there's out there about to happen is going to hurt them
in those utterly worthless credits that they got?

There are still some questions going on in this thread about the value
of them, the worth they have for the science that you do to get them.
Here's a question for you who wonder about this: How do you know
you're actually doing science? Apart from Einstein and CPDN, I haven't
seen any project release any (detailed) outcome of what was
researched, nor whether that work was actually done by BOINC
competitors. Isn't that a scary thought?

A couple of omissions, like Primegrid, where your name is on the Prime
you find or DP where when a web-site is down, you'll get email
notifications... Other than that, Conspiracy Theorists be most
welcome. :-)

So, what am I to do? Go away or stay? I don't know yet.
First I have to get past that one level in C&C3: Tiberium Wars that
I've been stuck on since September '09, let Jack navigate The River
without dying, and have Laura kick Natla's ass in the end-level (isn't
Underworld just that much easier? ;-)).
