God's forgiveness? That reminds me of Pat Robertson, to put it nicely.
He's saying that it's going to cost lives to make things right and if we _do_ get it right than we'll be forgiven (for screwing it up in the first place.) Think in more secular terms. And I still haven't heard anyone provide an explanation on how this statement can be interpreted as Moore _wanting_ these deaths to occur. In fact the use of the word "sadly" would indicate just the opposite.
