It can be called ultimate in the same way 20twenty cricket is called
cricket, despite having several very major differences from test cricket,
yet it has gone on to be very successful and is a valid version of the game.
i see no harm in giving it a go and seeing what happens, to me it sounds a
great idea, particularly to try out rule changes. while the self-refereeing
nature may be the most controversial change, i do think others such as
changing the rules on pick and time between points may be worth trying.
