Jeff,

You don't need to pump it.  I have a similar setup on my 5874.  I lay the
hose in a shallow pan on the cabin floor, unscrew the fitting on the end of
the hose and let it drain.  I use a pan that is sold to change oil in cars.
I have notched it to get the hose lower in the pan, don't need all of that
volume.

I use a zip lock bag around the oil filter when I take it off, catches about
95% of the leakage.
