Jeff,
You don't need to pump it. I have a similar setup on my 5874. I lay the
hose in a shallow pan on the cabin floor, unscrew the fitting on the end
of
the hose and let it drain. I use a pan that is sold to change oil in
cars.
I have notched it to get the hose lower in the pan, don't need all of that
volume.
I use a zip lock bag around the oil filter when I take it off, catches
about
95% of the leakage.

i'm a recent owner and am about to embark on my first oil change.
have an
elec. pump that i was going to use to pump out thru the dip stick
tube. but
in looking at the engine noted that the bottom of the oil pan has
a fitting
with a hose attached that is run up forward and capped. looks
like i could
use this to get the oil out although the fitting on the end doesn't look
like a natural fit to my pump.
anybody got the same thing on their u18 and how do you get the oil out?
thanks,
jeff
