Dinowitzs, During the British-Jewish war, if it was fine for the Irgun
to attack to an administrative and military target via the call-ahead
rule, what were the targets the British could counter-attack against?
Who was the Jewish military and where were their bases?

To me, that was terrorism, but define it how you like.

I'm not suggesting that everything bad the Arabs do was learned from
the Jews.  I was making the point that Arabs have a reasonable
argument for thinking American foreign policy hypocritical.

Put another way, Howard Dean lost the Democratic nomination primarily
because of one primal scream.  It wasn't that the scream was so bad,
it was that it reinforced fears that people already had about him.

In the same way, the 90% US unilateral invasion of Iraq and shunning
of the UN, confirmed for many Arabs that the US is anti-Arab and
anti-Muslim.  We may say that it's not true, and how could they think
that, but who takes America's word on anything anymore after the WMD
debacle?

Again, when a reasonable argument can be made as to the US's
intentions, you can't discount that as, "oh, they're just goofy over
there."  Reasonable arguments are the seeds of terrorism.
