Situation #1, Someone that joined Walmart as an entry level clerk was passed over 4 times for promotion in the technology services area whilst his White counterparts who didn't know half as much as him were consistently promoted ahead of him. One of them eventually became his manager. There were all sorts of excuses given, and if a customer complained whether warranted or not it counted more heavily against him than the same situation with the other White employees. No one actually ever made any racist comments, but the results spoke for themselves.
Situation #2, My Wife's brother in law tried to get hired as an upper level manager. There was this other guy that he knew didn't have a chance and totally wasn't as good as he was. Guess what? Yeah..he got the job. He didn't even get called in for an Interview. His name was Kwesi Johnson. I could provide 1000 more examples but I'll stop here. Yeah..we could do this all day. Try to provide statistics on a national level as I have instead of your own personal anecdotes and then respond again. -Gel -----Original Message----- From: Gruss Gott Second Example ------------------------ My wife did recruiting for firm that looked for Ivy Leaguers - the majority were minorities! Which also meant that the majority of offerees were minorities. In her office were people from all over the world: South America, Turkey, Iraq, Iran, Sweden, France, Germany, China, Japan, Australian, English, and those are just off the top of my head. In short the majority were non-American. We now have a theory due that American in on the decline - where are all the American white males? Summary -------------- I could give you 20 more examples, not just in America but in Europe. The top universities and firms are full of minorities; at least within the last 5 years. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~| Discover CFTicket - The leading ColdFusion Help Desk and Trouble Ticket application http://www.houseoffusion.com/banners/view.cfm?bannerid=48 Message: http://www.houseoffusion.com/lists.cfm/link=i:5:144863 Archives: http://www.houseoffusion.com/cf_lists/threads.cfm/5 Subscription: http://www.houseoffusion.com/lists.cfm/link=s:5 Unsubscribe: http://www.houseoffusion.com/cf_lists/unsubscribe.cfm?user=11502.10531.5 Donations & Support: http://www.houseoffusion.com/tiny.cfm/54
