You need to lose that sanctimonious propaganda. There are plenty of countries and oppressed people that could use some US intervention and money. So why aren't you arguing for invasion there too? Until you're ready to make the argument that the US should also be helping all of those countries and people let's just leave it at this: 1.) We fucked up and invaded a country because our intelligence was crap and we jumped the gun rather than listening to the UN who turned out to be right. 2.) We've totally fucked up the occupation, but it hasn't been a complete failure. 3.) Now that we're there, we need to stay until the country we invaded on bad intelligence is able to secure itself. As to innocent death, well, maybe it will all be for the better. Maybe it won't. Either way, the only thing to do now is leave the country better than we found it.
