I don't think so. I've was reading a little about the terms, Gay doesn't
directly place emphasis on intercourse, but on other social ideals as
well. Homosexual places emphasis on sexual preference.

A gay man may desire to be with another man without sex.

This seems to be what American Heritage dictionary states.

Of course, the meaning of these words can change every few minutes.
