I support the separation too Mo. I don't debate that. But in the
process of defending positions in support of separation, Christianity
and Christians have been demonized and stereotyped into being intolerant
bigots who want to shove their religion down other peoples throats.
Admittedly, those elements exist in the various denominations of
Christianity but is NOT indicative of Christians as a whole. People
were using one or two personal experiences to sum up Christianity and I
was challenging people to remove themselves from common stereotypes and
to draw solely on their own experiences and evaluate their experiences
with Christians as a whole. I believe that if people stop for a second
and do that, that they realize that their own experiences are far more
positive than they are negative.

Maybe this is not appropriate for this thread, but it's hard for me to
sit back and "take it" especially if I feel people aren't being fair
about it. It's not a hostility filter but a self-defense mechanism.

No, you don't "get it" because you filter everything anyone says
through
your hostility filter instead of reading the actual words.

This debate isn't about Christianity being evil, it's about separation
of
church and state under law, something that a lot of Christian
organizations
actually support, but which a small minority of very vocal so-called
leaders who have been allowed by the silence of the majority to muddy
the
waters on this issue to the point where few, if any, of the followers
  understand the real issues.

We can tear down the walls between church and state all at once, or we
can
allow them to be eroded with hundreds of small compromises, but once
they
are gone, they are gone in both directions, and you'll have the IRS,
ATF,
FBI and any other government agency that chooses with their noses
firmly up
  your collection box.
