Michael,

sorry you feel "defeated" - it wasn't meant to be a competititon.

and you were *not* misunderstood - I tried to make very clear that Sandy's
brother, my neighbor, etc. are not indicative of ALL Christianity. I
emphasized that they are an extreme "sect" of Christianity but do not ACT
like Christians.

You didn't hurt or offend me. I just got frustrated trying to get a point
across to you.

I hope you see from this reply that I *do* understand your point.

When you say you are a Catholic, I automatically *exclude* you from the
Falwell et al group in my mind, since I have never known a Catholic to do
the things these extreme groups do.

I think I and several others were expressing our concern that the extremists
were getting too much attention and political power, and endangering us all
with their attitudes towards "freedom".

Hope this helps.

-Ben

Alright, this is the last thing I'll say on this. I have only been
trying to make one point and have seemed to fail horribly at it. As the
Taliban are not indicative of Islam, the Christian fundamentalists like
Robertson, Falwell, Ben's neighbor or Sandy's brother are not indicative
of Christianity. That's all I've been trying to say. Sorry for hurting
or offending anyone.
