Not hostility towards Christianity, but hostility towards the very
intolerant fundamentalist Christianity. No mainstream Christian denomination
is advocating prayer in schools, or creationism or actively wants to tear
down the walls between church and state. Moreover how many Episcopalian,
Catholic, or mainstream Protestant ministers or priests have applauded what
happened on Sept. 11 like the leaders of the fundie movement (i.e.., Falwell
and Robertson). Then almost immediately after giving a very weasel worded
retraction turned around and put out a fund raising letter saying the exact
same thing. How many mainstream Christian leaders have advocated putting
gays in concentration camps like Pat Robertson. How many mainstream
Christian ministers or priests have advocated establishing a theocracy in
this country. I could go on but it would be belaboring the issue.

The point is that its not hostility towards mainstream Christianity which is
typically tolerant of others, but to extremist fundamentalist Christianity
which is ideologically the same as the Taliban.
