I don't know why the senior square dancers wouldn't know a teacher. I am
sure they go to class. We had six different classes a day, some students
had seven. If they are seniors, I am sure they should know enough teachers
that they could find one to sponsor the group.

Their only criteria is wether or not it is legal. To the school what the
group of students want to do doesn't matter. They have requirements that
the lawyers and the insurance company says must be fulfilled.

Teachers lock the doors to their classrooms when they leave for the day.
The same with the cafeteria, the Gym, and the library. At the very minimum
somebody has to lock up when the students leave. Most teachers aren't going
to give students keys, except in very few cases. So the teacher must be
with the students to at least lock up.

One case where students were allowed keys was mine, I was the editor of the
school paper and would stay after school, with the knowledge of the
teacher, the principals, and the security guards.

Do you see why a teacher was required to be there?
