Not quite, campus counselors (usually clinical psych PhD students) don't have 
that authority. Moreover, getting someone committed, even if they can show the 
person is a direct threat to themselves and others is very difficult, it can 
take up to 10 days. And given the court system in that part of Virginia, I 
wouldn't be surprised if it would take even longer.

so what happens then? He's been given a warning and most likely that would have 
served as a trigger.
