Couple other things I suggest: (1.) Get a personal trainer (beyond your dr and/or someone at the gym to show you how to lift). I suggest Jen Heath. She is more of a female focused trainer, but, via phone and email, she'll make sure you get in shape, lose fat, and stay there. She's like $500 per year.
