Ahh the last resort of the foolish the hot words. Buzz word bandit.

We have sort of a virtual scrum, using Adobe connect inside my current
organization. We primarily telecommute, so a single room would be
impractical. Considering many of our users are currently deployed
around the world in support of ongoing operations this works best for us.

I enjoy paired programming, I understand and practice cyclical RAD
ideals within our process. However this must also be balanced within
government and DoD constraints for project management, budget
accountability and security audits and policies.

Xp and agile SD are such nebulous terms however that anyone can claim to
be proponents of their ideals.

As for test driven design, it's used where practical. During new
development. Doing maintenance of already existing applications, or
adding new functionality to the same often requires a different set of
skills, documentation and development.

In my community change and bug requests must be responded to so quickly
that following these principals would often slow us down and lead to our
support failing the war fighter. As I'm sure none of your applications
have to meet this standard, I don't expect you to understand my concerns.

In the end XP and Agile SD are supposed to be fitted to your unique
situation and environment. Not all of the principles and ideals will fit
within every organization. In many cases a single developer is working
on these projects as architect, developer, designer and dba, and such
these team based systems really don't help.
