That's true, but is the trend away from that? A four-year degree now can cost anywhere from $100 - 200k. For example: What if smart kids take some of that dough and start a business with, say, $10k, of seed money? And the business does well or even just breaks even. Say they start a fantasy football online company or something. And what if they started doing that at 13 or 14 or 15 or 16? Then they show up at random corp X and compete with new college grads - and get the job. And then go back to school on nights, weekends, etc using their college benefit money. My point was that I could easily see that happening. And I could then see pressure for the smart kids to start a little company to beef up the ole CV. Because, as I said, if I'm looking at those 2 kids I'd bet you money the business kid will kick the college kid's ass in both skills and presentation. And if that's true, then what value is the degree for those kids? And thus the prestigious CV line item becomes having run your own small business. Some of the people on this list do that and I'd hire any one of them in a second. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~| Want to reach the ColdFusion community with something they want?
