We run into things like this here frequently. The worst I've ever seen was when the elementary school where I was working at the time made a rule against birthday parties in the classroom but dedicated half a day to festivities for Mexican Independence Day. It drove me nuts. And then there's all the people who fly the Mexican flag without (or worse, above) the American flag. That kind of thing would be illegal in another country.
For the record, Cinco Di Mayo is celebrated in Mexico according to every Mexican immigrant I've ever talked to about the subject. To put that in perspective for you, the population here is about 60% Hispanic, with about 3/4 or so of them being either immigrants or first generation Americans, so I've known quite a few people who were actually born and grew up in Mexico. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~| Order the Adobe Coldfusion Anthology now! http://www.amazon.com/Adobe-Coldfusion-Anthology-Michael-Dinowitz/dp/1430272155/?tag=houseoffusion Archive: http://www.houseoffusion.com/groups/cf-community/message.cfm/messageid:317552 Subscription: http://www.houseoffusion.com/groups/cf-community/subscribe.cfm Unsubscribe: http://www.houseoffusion.com/groups/cf-community/unsubscribe.cfm
