No, the full story there is that the state school board sent out invitations to 
scientists on both sides of the debate over whether ID theory actually 
qualified as science and none of its critics bothered to show up. They were 
trying to find the truth of the matter and only got one side of the story. I'll 
also point out that those standards lasted less than a year.

But I digress. The issue is that the school districts in Eastern Kansas (where 
these experts are) can operate on less state funding than the ones in Western 
Kansas (where I am) due to a greater population density and higher property 
values. They get a lot more money from their local option taxes there than we 
do here. The story of Kansas politics really: The politicians only see the 
state from about Wichita eastward so those of us out in the western part of the 
state get the shaft on a lot of things.
