Yeah, I remember that, and Cameron's point about dual booting is spot on.

The same hardware costs less other places tho.  MPBs *are* put
together nice (besides the non-user-serviceable-ness).  The keyboards
have been swell on the last couple models... dunno about cleaning out
the new inlaid ones, but they have a nice action.

That said, there's a pretty impressive selection of laptops now, with
similar features.

The main argument for me for a Apple machine is that I need to be
multi-platform-able, and Apple locks their OS to their hardware.  Or
tries to, pretty hard.

The machine I've used heavily for the last few years has been a
trooper tho.  So way my gateway tho, and it had less hardware
problems.  :-)p
