You're doing something wrong.  =)

4+ years ago I got a Gateway laptop (first 17 in. model they made),
and I'll be damned if I couldn't leave it running *all the time*.

Instantly started up.  Before I finished opening the lid, even.  For a
couple weeks at a time, at least.

Course, I just "slept" it, versus "hibernating", but that's what MBPs
do too, unless the battery is low.

And it fucking worked with Linux Mint!  The sleep, everything.  Mint
made it faster and better, too.  Dusted Windows.

That system had mad uptime.  *mad*.


Apple is just alright with me.  The philosophy they tout will kill
them (again), if they don't get their act together... of that, I'm
sure.

I like Ubuntu 10.10's interface way better than OS X's.  Flipping
beautiful, and I can configure it how *I* want it, vs. get spoon fed
with no alternatives to the spoon feeding.
