It's not trying to force churches to anything. Georgetown or a catholic
hospital is not a church. When you have businesses, as a religious org,
that have nothing to do with the religious part of your organization, you do
as the catholic church did with their hospitals...they are incorporated and
non-profits and are separate entities that just happen to be funded by the
church. So when you want o act like an employer, you have to follow the
same rules that other employers have to follow...which does not give you
license to discriminate or treat people differently. The same applies to
religious organizations that receive federal funding. They are not allowed
to discriminate against someone because of their race, sexual orientation,
religion, sex, etc... It's why the Salvation Army no longer gets federal
funds...because they refused to stop discriminating against homosexuals.

No. That's not what this debate is about. The debate is about whether or
not the government can force a religious institution to do things that are
against the moral tenets of the religion. In other words, is the first
amendment worth the parchment its written on? This administration doesn't
think it is.

You are correct that thus debate has been taken over by politics. Like the
democrats holding a congressional hearing that to allow people like this
student to bring up points that have nothing to do with the original issue
of church vs state.

So I hear that the student says she does not accept the apology.

Now that moves this squarely into the realm of politicking and a campaign to
destroy Rush.

That's not what the debate is supposed to be about at all, and by not
accepting the apology she's now shifted the debate into the realm of pure
politics.

It's supposed to be about women's rights, reproductive rights, contraception
etc.
