I know a number of women, my wife and my sister included, who started
taking hormonal birth control before they were sexually active in
order to help regulate abnormal and debilitating menstrual cycles.

And even if various birth control methods didn't have other medical
uses, I would still want to require insurance to cover them because it
is the right thing to do. People should be in charge of their own
reproduction and we, as a society, should help everyone have the tools
to do so. End of story.
