This was an unarmed kid, walking around in his own neighborhood, targeted and harassed by someone who did not have the authority to even make a single demand from the kid. He was instructed by the police not to confront the kid, but did so anyway. I guarantee that any neighborhood watch training also included instructions to never approach any suspicious person directly. If someone is actively breaking into your house that is one thing, but this kid was doing nothing at all. Zimmerman was out to be a local hero by catching a criminal and his overzealousness caused another person's death.
