So we agree then.  I essentially said the same thing before going into
why I believe insurance is as screwed up as it is.  To summarize, in
my mind, ideally, everyone would be able to plan ahead, but that's not
always possible, hence the need for insurance, and given the current
system of incentives it's not going to be good for policyholders
without some government intervention and regulations.  (I need run-on
sentence insurance, btw, hehe).
