Okay. So my GF's health insurance sucks ass. Always has. Can't say Earthlink/MS has ever been any good in that respect. So, like usual, she goes to the doctor, has some form of checkup, and finds out about 2 months later, that her 'insurance' didn't cover something, again. About $130 or so. Can't remember the exact details (this is from several years ago), but she ends up eventually sucking it up and paying them. Well, a month or so later, she gets a collection notice in the mail about the $130. The jibbs and jabbs with them on the phone about how it was taken care of, contact the medical facility where it all started, and end up dropping the collection. For some half baked reason, the Med. facility gets it in their head that they owe her the $130, and send her a check... *rolls eyes*. She tries calling them and explaining to them that they didn't owe her the money, and they have no clue what she's talking about. Somehow, I talk her into /not/ cashing the check... About 3 months later, she is in collections again for the $130, because of the check they sent her. She jumps thru some more hoops, and proves that the check was NEVER cashed and that she did pay them the original $130... The collection agency says thanks, we got all the info, if we need anything else, we'll let you know. Her credit report eventually showed the change, and all is well. Now, 2 years later, she gets a collection mail from a new company that took over all of that old company's collections, and they want their $130!!!! WTF??? And, as per always, they are the rudest f***s on the phone, and you're totally at their mercy, and they don't wanna f***ing work with her on it... They are saying it's up to her to prove that she doesn't owe this money (again!)... Is there something that she can do to avoid the impeding sh*t that I can see we're going to have to go thru about this...?
