Actually you are in denial. Anyone who if physically able, and after an attack by a foreign power, who will not participate in the defense of his/her country is a Coward, and in my mind does not deserve the protections of citizenship.
I have never advocated shoot first and ask questions later, although perhaps there are situations where that would solve the immediate problem. But refusing to participate in the defense of your own homeland after it has been attacked, is definitely cowardice in the first degree.
