We think that one of the Black Water consultants that was recently killed
was a good friend of mine.  He was a team leader in my national guard unit.
He had already served in both OIF and OEF with the 75th Ranger Regiment.
While I know that the money helped make his decision, he also cares deeply
about the people in both countries.  He is a freedom loving man, quick to
laugh.  He joked that he wanted to be a professional wrestler.

We haven't heard back from his family or Black Water as to his status just
yet.

I can tell you one thing.  You cannot compare Hammas or Islamic Jihad
members that go looking for civilian targets to this man.  He would never
intentionally harm anyone that wasn't trying to harm him or his unit.  The
Black Water people over there aren't even fighting really, more doing
security and training.   Hell if you think about it the Sadr people should
be glad that they are there.  The more we train Iraqis to take over police
and security forces, the sooner we can come home.

People come to this country to find freedom.  He went to Iraq to bring it.
More people come here to find freedom, and then want to change the society
to fit with what they left.  This is insane.  Why are we successful, and
mainly free?  Because of how we live, and the things we believe.  I have no
patience for people from other countries that come here and then want to
change things, make it more socialist, force their morality down our
throats.

Actually, you can't use the concern of taking fire. The contractors in
Iraq knew and accepted that as a risk before going in. You could make
the argument that the Palestinians knew about things that they do not
like here, it's a matter of degrees.

But are the civilian contractors in Iraq really comparable to the
Palestinians on the show? Are the Palestinians on the show working for a

Palestinian company in America? (I don't know as I haven't seen the show

in question)

The contractors in Iraq AFAIK, didn't bring their wives/husbands and
families. And while you might (and did) say both are motivated by the
money, it is highly unlikely that the Palestinians going to work in
America have to worry about taking fire from the local populace during
the ol'commute.

Apples and oranges?

will
