Trooper, Okay, but I'm pretty sure I need to drill a hole in the tunnel for the cable to the tranny, Anyone know the location for a 70-72, even the measurement for the console mounts could help me determine the location of the cable hole. Any help there? :-Diane > > Diane, You'll need to first install mounts to the tunnel that the console screws into. You can install them with sheetmetal screws but at the factory they are welded and they are more stable and look nicer welded. Then screw the console to these mounts and the mount on the shifter base. I could give you exact measurements for a 69 on the mounts but mine is a 4 speed so I can't tell you were the shifter needs to be mounted exactly.
