Entries in these files look correct so I am surprised that links are not opening in Chrome. - If you set Firefox as your default browser, do http links open in Firefox? - What is the version of live messenger you are using? - Which specific link are you trying to open? Do none of http/https link open in Chrome? - One another step to try would be - delete HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Classes\http key (it gets recreated when you change your default browser so should not be a problem but you can export and save it before deletion if you want).
