>From a Asia female point of view, it is a very little bit difference but
not discrimination. For the networking world, men are easy to accept men
can do the job and they will not realize women could able to do it as good
as men. But most of the networkers are open-minded, once the technical
conversation start, they can distinguish if you are capable to do it or
not. I think female engineer only has to be a bit patient more. Bottom
line is no matter which gender you are, if you know nothing or not
aggressive to power up your knowledge, then you definitly will phrase out
by this fast growing industry.

I have worked in UUNET for 2 1/3 year. All my bosses are very appreciate
my job. Nowadays, when they hire new people, they always ask me to get
involve in the interview process.

Yes, you will feel lonely if you all the way think about how many men and
how many women work in this field. I seldom think in this way. I am
seeking a good quality of conference/training and not quantity of each
sex. Who care? I think we all care how well will MPLS runs , what is
coming next to MPLS, what after OC192c.

If your mother tougue is English, you are even much better than me to
understand the content of the training/conference. So, don't give up. We
all want to see more diversity in this field.
