Joe, not for the faint-hearted. I always take a webbing loop or two up and always attach myself around the mast. Even at the dock, if someone is on the deck (and moves), the swings can be quite substantial (trigonometry works against you).
You can also use a loop on your feet (there is nothing better than when your feet slide off the mast and your knees hit the metal). It does not look rough in that photo, but the swells at 55 feet up were enough to make it hard to hang on, and if you get loose you will hit one or more things pretty hard.
