FWIW I'm using a 2.2 kernel with a partition created with a Mandrake-7.0 and tune2fs -l reports the sparse_super capability: Filesystem features: filetype sparse_super -- Guillaume Cottenceau - http://people.mandrakesoft.com/~gc/
