I am an old member, the first member of this group. I always read your writings and I am very happy that some native speakers help us.
John, I will ask you for help me later if you do not mind to read a longer essay.

Hi,
I am very happy to know there are various member in the group which are initiated to improve the english. I have also finding that there are many errors that we do while writing.
Also If there is any member who wants to work in linux kernel. Please contact me. Now we are forming a team of improvement of linux kernel in terms of coupling and cohesion. And make the code better understandable to the user.
I am also trying to get some time for reading english grammer books. I think we should have to initiate, some way to improve the english language in the group. Some of us are also shy in nature. So if they want to grow they have to take out the shy and come forward. But in starting they can write mail to individuals to correct their english usage..
Petr you have noted right point of mine incorrect usage of words. Some time I will use spelling mistake tool and they do sometimes else also. Now I will look on that aspect too.

Hi Raj,

Be your delay forgiven ;). I agree we should write in English primarily, but using another language might prove fruitful from time to time - whenever all other means of explanation fail, or when we happen to find a useful linguistic parallel in the particular foreign language or a mother tongue of one's own. I don't mind friendly greetings in various languages, but let's use English as much as possible. For me as a Czech, groups like this seem to have born some fruits already (moreover, this has been the only opportunity to use English for a few months or so), nevertheless, I still haven't achieved the level of English I'd like to.

Now, we get to your posting. I can't comment on your punctuation, since I'm by no means sure, how to use it properly, but there's one thing I can write about: spelling. If I'm not mistaken, you wanted to use the verb "hurt", not "heart", as "heart" is a noun - the muscle beating in your chest and pumping your blood all over the body. I think the pronunciation is diverse, too, but I admit there might be dialects or accents of English, in which the difference has disappeared already, and, if you wanted to use the dialect, you'd have to stick to its distinct pronunciation rules in order to keep certain consistency and thus be understood.

I must look at my English grammar handbook again and do some revision after the long time of sleeping :), so, whenever I make any mistake, I hope to be corrected by any of you, dear friends, for which I thank you in advance.

Yours,

Pet'usek (which is a familiar local diminutive of Petr in Czech)

P.S.: There's one thing I'd like to ask the native speakers - correct word order. As various grammars vary in what the correct word order should be, I'd love to know your personal opinions. Thanks again.

Hi friends,
Sorry for delay in replying. I had got busy with my course work. But in my opinion we have to talk in English. As we have joined this group for improving English. If I heart someone then let me say sorry to them.
I will write more in next mail. As I am busy currently.

Hello Raj, Ho, and anyone else interested,

I posted my reply in German, just to be friendly to the person who
asked for help.  As he is from
Austria, his native language would be German, which I can read and
write fairly well.  I was trying
to be extra-friendly by answering him in his native language.  Sorry
for the confusion.
