I wrecked mine on January 13. I landed normally, hit a bump on the runway, got airborne again, and proceeded to porpoise 10 or 12 times, each time coming down at a very steep nose-down angle. Then it would shoot back up nose-high, stall, and come down again. It was hitting so hard that I could see the whole front end flop upwards when it would hit. It ended up with serious buckles right and left, popped rivets in the rear spar, warped belly, burst seal in the struts, bent mount, ruined tire, and stringers popped loose. It did $10,900 worth of damage to the plane and it was totaled. Right after I'd finally fixed it up to where it was a good plane, naturally! I decided the best thing to do was just to buy the best plane I could so that is how I ended up with the Taylorcraft. I almost didn't buy another plane at all. Avemco was excellent on the claim but the problem was that I couldn't get anybody to come and fix it. They were going to give it a chance to be fixed but nobody ever came to get it.
