El Al, who probably is the most direct target for Islamic nut cases, has flown for many years without major incident. They have done so with effective (but not stupid) security measures. Of course, if you try to penetrate the cockpit of an El Al airliner, you won't live to do so. That is as it should be. Nor are you likely to get anything dangerous aboard. However, you can still bring your toiletries and such. It's not like great minds have to invent what needs doing. It's probably easier to hijack a US airliner than it is to rob a New York cabbie.
