The only problem with an outer door is that it would eliminate the first row of first class seats. The airlines would fight it to the end. On a more positive note, it would make room for a pilot's latrine which would be necessary for long flights. There are some definite possibilities there! On another train of thought, I think the security issue just may have taken care of itself. In lieu of these hijackings, I don't think passengers will be nearly as passive as they have been. The first thing that would come to my mind is that we are going to die anyway. I think you will see passengers rushing the hijackers on all hijacked flights from now on. One thing about us Americans, we only get burned once!
