Yes we're talking about "Turbines", but the Subaru thing sounds ok too,
except you're still talking recip.  The advantage of Turbine power is not
only it's available power, but it's reliability, and the way most of us
fly,
it's lifetime (yours and mine) no teardown prospect.  Not to say much
about
the "novelty" aspect of showing up at "fly-in's" with such an unusual
aircraft.  As far as your question regarding the procedures for going
"experimental"?  I think Jolly in Aurora can better answer that one, but I
think it's nothing more than notification forms, and inspection.
