I just realized that mimi is saying there is some code difficulty in doing what I am describing. Overlays are hard to do in the table view. This *really* should be addressed because it is a core metaphor issue.
By the way, overlay is another one of those words that is not necessary. All you are doing is selecting calendars. google calendars doesnt need fancy jargon to describe this feature.
