I used to run Windows NT servers exclusively. I've added
some Linux to the stable, and I like it a lot.

Windows NT (and 2000) can be remarkably stable, _IF_ they're
configured properly and left alone. Unfortunately, they're
much less tolerant than Linux of the "trial and error"
method of problem solving.

Anyway, for those folks who are just getting started with
OpenSRS, if you're looking for a guide for installing
on Windows NT/2000, I've got one online at

http://www.atlcon.net/opensrs/nt-howto.htm

There's also a guide for OpenSRS-SF if you choose to take
that route.

Eric Longman

I am not sure who can help you there. I think most all are running
Linux/Unix that I have talked to in here. Our personal experience while
testing Windows OS with servers was poor memory management and too many
server crashes. Do you ever have that? We tried several different
installations on different machines but it seemed Linux just could not be
beat. I am curious as to what others opinions are we thought about offering
a windows based hosting machine also as some may prefer it over Unix (Not
sure why ;) but it seems more trouble than it is worth.

 Curious about others thoughts ;)
