Ok

Many thanks to Eric. The problem WAS that line of code as mentioned in your
tutorial, however just hidden in the clientcommon.pl file rather than the
reg_system.cgi file. That problem solved, onto the next one :-)

Registration of the domain seems to go through without any problems, the
customer gets an order id emailed to them and we get an email telling us
what the customer has entered. However, when i try to log in using the
domain/username/password specified when i registered a domain i get ' failed
attempt: authentication error' .

Sorry to be a pain with all the questions.

Thanks

Richard

Hi Richard,

Check out

http://www.atlcon.net/opensrs/nt-howto.htm#cgiMOD_SMTP

for some help. I believe this is a bit out of date
(the modifications need to be made to ClientCommon.pl
rather than reg_system.cgi), but it should help you
track down the issue.

My guess is that you're running the Microsoft SMTP
service, which doesn't like the default approach that
the OSRS code takes.

Subject: opensrs v2.52 install problem on win2k

Hi all

Hope someone out there can help me with this. I am trying to install
version 2.52 of opensrs on a win2k iis5 server. When I run the verify
install cgi, it says that all is ok, however when I run reg_system.cgi it
hangs when I get to the final bit. I suspect from various bits of
documentation that this is an smtp error, but to be honest don't have a clue
whet it is. Any help would be much appreciated.

Thanks

Richard
