What surprises me about it is that the source of the problem isn't educated about the problem of re-using the same interfaces. Why was it so hard for them to call it org.w3c.dom3.* ? Sounds to me that those who decide never use XML in Java.
very likely to be the case, DOM was created for client side javascript.
