I liked the way Solr organized their logo design contest (quite) a while ago, we could do something similar: http://wiki.apache.org/solr/LogoContest https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/SOLR-84 the reward for the winning designer is being allowed to include their (short) URL or name on the t-shirt as public credits. -Bertrand
