Hi Laurent, all,

Hi Gerry

What I said to Andrew. We need to look at what exists and decide what it
is we can do. I have little to no programming skill at this level having
never dived in so can only offer high level support.

as said previously bye someone else,i think this is waste of time targetting a brand new DevGuide ! by experience it is a huge huge task and energy could be put somewhere else

+1 From several discussions and threads that I remind, this was not the topic. But adding new articles was the concern.

Even if i'm blamed by sunnies (some may be aggressive sometimes) asking this freeing every 6 months (i've a calendar reminder ;) ), i'm totally sure of the will of freeing this and can understand some legal issues and then delay ... (he guys, not so much, please)

If I can help here with my OOo memory, moving from CA to JCA has took more that one year. Moving to no licence to PDL has took about 2 years, moving to outsource OLH has took more than 2 years but it's not still possible to contribute to it so pleas guys, be patient and confident, the most important is that the the willing is here :-)

here are some alternative ways
- propose helping on freeing the existing one

+1
- provide translation of code source of the devGuide on the wiki into new languages (Basic, Python) in our own licence provided we're allowed to ...some info on this ?

you're always allowed to provide new material on another licence. The concern is how this will be integrated, and how this will be interacting with the already existing material. From what I remember of all the discussions about the dev guide, this came out about adding new articles or rewriting existing articles. The purpose was not about rewriting from scratch.

- populate the extensions wiki ! a lot or redactionnal is here needed
 http://wiki.services.openoffice.org/wiki/Extensions_development

I've done my best ;-)

- any other proposal accepted :)

all of this to be translated, working with NLC

The issue is that even in the NLC, people available have not the extensible time they would like and you would need. Imho, at this point, there is some marketing actions needed to populate your project. So cc John ;-)

Kind regards
Sophie
