Let's just switch maven master to the resolver snapshot and continue from there on. That branch is useless for anyone not having updated maven core to use the resolver snapshot. I am not sure the IT would need to be updated. As far as I recall maven core needs to be updated to reflect MRESOLVER-8. That would take just a few minutes. +1 for releasing resolver 1.2. -1 for releasing an RC without the import scope feature sorted out. See my other mail. That needs to be clarified.
